Earlier today in a video I did (on our facebook page) I said something that stuck with me. The phrase was, "see what the daily practice can do for you".
As martial artists we aren't just a 'martial artist' on the mats. We are supposed to represent a loftier ambition. Admittedly, it isn't always easy or fulfilled; but, that is why we should consider it a daily practice. And for each practitioner it means something different.
For some, it's a healthier lifestyle or diet. For others it's about mindfulness. For others it is sport and competition.
Martial arts is solo activity done in a group. We will have different reasons behind why we are training, but we can train together and help each other to achieve these goals. When you step on to the mats our reasons fall away and we focus on the practice. The pursuit of getting better. At the very least, we try. Sometimes that is a victory.
See you on the mats
